Hello everyone. OK here is the deal. I have 0 work experience and therefore as most would know it's almost impossible to get a job without it. Anyways I am currently on Job Seeker's Benefit. There is a place near me where I can work voluntary for 4 months with no payment at all just to get work experience but I won't be getting paid. I was wondering if I do get this voluntary job would my Job Seeker Benefit be stopped or no since I am not getting paid at all?

A friend of mine, who is on JB is allowed to do work experience for one day a week but not more as she has to be available for full time work if a job comes up. This is a criteria for receiving JB. You could ask at DSP if you can do a part time work placement, maybe that is possible. There is a certain amount of hours you are allowed to do unpaid work, but it has to be a for a non profit organisation or charity as far as I know.
