Bluetooth radio information sharing?

I recently bought a car that has an integrated bluetooth radio.

Since having it I've noticed that I get ads for newstalk, when browsing on my phone, I don't think I ever got them before.

My question is, when the radio is connected to the phone, does google (or whoever) get information about what radio station you are listening to.

This could be in my head obviously, and the ads were always there and I never noticed them before.

Ah I think that is down to the app that controls your tv remotes etc. I cant think of the name of the app but it done that on my s6 after certain updates.
