    Hi all,

I am in the process of trying to bring an old G4 Powermac (400mHz) back to life.
I am having problems trying to source Tiger for it.
Anyone know where I could get it at a reasonable price?

    Many thanks,

    IM

I'm trying to sell a G4 Mac Mini that includes the Tiger OS disk - if you were interested in acquiring the Mac Mini you'd get the install disk too :)

    Hi Gyck,

Think that disk will only work with the mini won't it?

You're correct, the disk will only work on the mac mini. But if you're just looking to relive the good old Tiger days, the machine and disk are going for a reasonable price :)

But seriosuly, I tried getting a G4 install disk a while back and had similar trouble finding one. I picked up an install disk for nothing from adverts but it didn't work. The closest I got was to find a PowerPC linux distro and to boot the machine using that. I think that I used the Ubuntu distro, check out https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerPCDownloads if you're interested.

I was trying to get a newer G4 working, not sure if the any of the Ubuntu builds will work on an older G4.
