GoSafe van, red flashing light

Here we go.. another GoSafe thread..

So this morning I passed a gosafe van, nothing unusual there, it was parked up in the usual spot, however.. this time there was what looked like a row of leds lighting up/ flashing every car that went past.
The lights were not dazzling bright, and they were inside the rear right window, above where the camera and radar sit.

I'm very familiar with their setup, but this is a new one on me..

Any ideas... perhaps a new ir flash?

It wasn't a reflection, and it didn't come from the ir flash unit on the roof.

It wasn't an emergency beacon, as it wasn't very bright, and only illuminated when cars passed through the capture zone.

Has anyone else seen this ?

    It's actually very visible.

IR is visible, its just not blinding like a conventional flash.

    Correct,
What I meant to say was, that it is visible, compared to the roof mounted flash which was not.

And what are the advantages /specs to this new flash.
