    Hi there,
I have currently moved to the apartment and I was looking around for best packages with budget in mind.
I was thinking of sky but my property management company doesn't allow dishes to be installed on the building.
So I was looking at air and virgin.
Air have good prices but no recording box etc with tv. Worked out as average of €53 per month. Total of €630 per year.
Virgin's cheapest bundle is on avarage of € 76 per month. Total of€918 per month.
As I mentioned price is important to me so I was wondering is it possible to have internet with eir and tv with virgin. It would work out as average of €66 per month. Total of €790 per year.

Would there be a problem if I've had 2 providers? Eir for internet and virgin for tv?
I love virgin's services but full bundle it's just that bit too expensive for me so trying to find best solution.
    Many thanks

No there won't be a problem. You can have 2 different providers.

You can record with the eir box to be fair. If you can hold off 2 months, virgin will have their new batch of offers out, usually you can get tv/by/ph for €50 a month for the year, they go through cycles of giving crappy offers which is what's happening now.
But an Eir package might be the cheapest right now, but their offers are often only for 6 months.

Have you included Virgins standalone charge?

I've been on Broadband only with Virgin for years, going back to their UPC days. The "standalone charge" is just an incentive to get you to upgrade to their next package up (Broadband + TV). However, it's slightly offset if you go for "paperless" billing, which I don't paying. Still works out as relatively good value.

SA charge is €6, least it was. Phone was €5, so you always took the phone.

There's no standalone charge for just having tv, also they don't sell broadband as a standalone product these days so the standalone charge (which only applies to old non-bundled packages) wouldn't apply here.
The broadband prices they advertise include a phone product.

They have started selling broadband only again for a number of months now!

Yes, but the standalone charge doesn't apply. It's for legacy products from years ago.
