Just moved house, Ariva box was working fine with another tv. Have an old Sharpe tv now. Think I have connected it properly. Scart from tv to box. Male to male cable from box to terrestrial aerial. Ariva box keeps endlessly searching for channels..have tried both auto and manual channel search..
    Anyone any suggestions?
    Much appreciated

So it's just connected to a wall socket? Do you know if there is actually an aerial feed to the socket?

Maybe you moved a sufficient distance to need a re-tune as the closest transmitter is different?

Just assumed there is, is rented accommodation so would usually be, landlord was v good at explaining everything, think he would definitely have said if a problem.. Think same thing happened to me when bought box, neighbour was around and fixed it up easily, think I'm just missing something quite simple..

How do I do that? Surely the box would pick up?

In settings there will be a place to do a scan of terrestrial channels.

The exact details are device dependent ..... but probably available to you from the Menu button on the remote.

    Try this:

    Automatic Scan
    1. Press menu on your digital receiver remote control

    2. Press the right or left arrow button to go to the Installation list, press OK & go down to Terrestrial Automatic Scan & press OK

    3. Select Country “Ireland” on the top line, and Select “No” for FTA Only.

    4. Scroll down to Search and press OK.

If that doesn't work, you likely have no aerial connected to that socket.

Thanks, is still channel searching though, had to buy a cable to go from box to the wall socket, a male to male, could I have bought wrong one? There are 3 scart connections on back of tv, have tried with all 3 connected to box. If I am seeing the channel search menu on the TV, the scart connected to wrong one couldn't be there problem?

Thanks a lot, think maybe the non aerial might be it.
Have explained to other reply that had to buy a cable to go from box to wall socket and a male to male fit. Could this be a problem? Or the scart lead from box to wrong scart hole on TV?
    Thanks for all your help

If you're seeing output from the box on the tv, then there's nothing wrong with the box's connection to the tv.

Again, you sound to have the correct connection for the coax wall connection so I would suggest that the other end of that cable may be to a dish or cable connection rather than an aerial. Perhaps check with your LL.

If you are seeing what the box is doing, on the TV, then it is connected properly.

You have not said what model box you are using ....... but make sure it is the Terrestrial scan you are doing and not a Satellite scan which would also be available if the box has a Satellite tuner in addition to the Terrestrial tuner.

Much appreciate your help, all the best to you :)

Is a Ferguson ariva t65, bought it in 2011 - did see on you tube that there are now Combi ones but think mine is a basic, was bought specifically to get saorview.
Wall socket has 2 holes- landlord just said was an aerial yrs ago, but previous tenant did have satellite, so perhaps is no connection there for the aerial anymore..
Thanks again for all your suggestions, all the best ☺

This page might help you scan the correct frequencies for you location, if that is the cause of the problem.
