bought this wavlink wifi extender on bang good.

    https://www.banggood.com/Wavlink-AC1200-1200Mbps-Dual-Band-4x3dBi-External-Antennas-Wireless-WIFI-Repeater-Signal-Booster-p-1145453.html

comreg confiscated it on import they thought it was a mobile phone repeater. I contacted them and said it wasnt, sent them what it was, no different than a wifi extender you get in argos. Ok, no problem, but they now want a certificate of compliance before they send it back for delivery which they want me to get from either point of purchase or product manufacturer.

Over last few days contacted banggood on boards and online on their website and wavlink directly but none are replying. What to do?

    Its gone.

Wavlink are unlikely to have paid anyone to certify it, their local would be TENAA but no sign of it being there.

You can try contacting Wavlink on Aliexpress as they also sell them looks like seller is wavlink Official Store, if they have the certificate they might forward to you, on the Aliexpress listing they do looks like they have some compliance icons, if they are real or fake, no idea.

What will comreg do if you don't get it destroy it or return to sender? If you paid with Paypal open a dispute or charge back with credit card. Maybe you should get them to keep it and get it on Amazon UK as they also sell it.

You can't do a charge back if the item is confiscated.

banggood came back to say theyll follow up with the supplier. I'll update after.

As per above, comreg also said the CE stamp on the equipment itself doesnt really mean anything.

buying chinese electronics years, I hadnt come across this before.

Yes the CE logo is not very reliable, as they created their own CE (China Export) logo that looks very close the CE logo (EU logo)

    They haven't. Urban myth.

People just print the CE logo whether or not its valid.
