Eirsport casting to Sony Android TV

Just bought Sony Android TV, KD49XE8396. When using built-in Chromecast to connect to Asus tablet, eirsport app gives message: 'Due to copyright restrictions we are unable to make this programme available'. When I set up external Chromecast, eirsport app connects. I have two devices registered for the app; Android phone and Asus tablet. Anybody come across this problem with the eirsport app?

    Hi Churchbay,

just wondering if you(or anyone) found a solution for this?

I just recently signed with Eir broadband. While I can watch the eir app on my tablet, as soon as I try to cast it to my Sony Bravia, I get the exact same error as you.

It's not a problem with the tv or casting, as I can cast other apps no problem.

There seems to be issues with smart TV's and Android boxes for some reason, not allowed by eir

There is a workaround, my brother has done it with his android TV. Involves sidoading an app on the TV I think. Not too sure of the details. I'll ask him tomorrow and post back.

Problem is a copyright issue with eir, not the TV, as you say most other apps can cast to it. Generally disappointed with Sony Bravia. No Bluetooth connection for my Sony headphones, even tried Bluetooth transmitters. Android apps are practically non-existent. Would not recommend Sony to anyone who wants connectivity.
