The motive is unclear at the moment but they have a suspect in custody.

The victims don't seem to have any life threatening injuries, thankfully.

Just people doing whatever it is they were doing and some scumbag decides to stab them. It's very sad.

"MUNICH cops have arrested a "volatile" suspect accused of stabbing at least FIVE passers-by in a frenzied attack near an underground station in the German city.

The area around Rosenheimer Platz has been placed on lockdown after several people were randomly attacked in the street.

Officers warned residents to stay in their homes when the suspect was still on the run after fleeing on a bicycle.

But Bild reported that at around 11am that police said a man had been arrested.

Pictures on Twitter showed a number of ambulances parked outside the station.

Officers have issued a description of the alleged offender, describing him as around 40-years-old.

They said: "He is wearing a green training jacket and is riding a black bike.

"He also had a backpack with camping mat."

The injuries of the people stabbed are not said to be life-threatening at this stage.

"We are searching for the perpetrator of the attack with all available police" Munich police said on their Twitter account.

The motive for the attack is unclear but terrorism has not been ruled out.

The Rosenheimer Platz station, which opened in 1972, is on the trunk line of the Munich S-Bahn."
