    Hi.

I am looking to hang a projector off of my new office ceiling.

Above the false ceiling tiles I have metal joists _ See pics.

Can anyone tell me what fixings would be best to use. The projector and mount weigh about 3.2kg so not very heavy.

    Really would appreciate some advice.

If you Dublin based,i will do it free of charge for you.

You will need to buy a ceiling pole mount and fitted properly to the concrete side of the roof.

What type you have and what screen size ?
Also, based on the projector type ...AND ... projector distance, you may need to move it closer of further.
There are 3 types of projectors, ultra, short and normal.

Also, dont forget power and VGA / HDMI .

    Regards.

That looks like the pan for a poured concrete floor on the storey above.

Rawlpugs or rawlbotls will do the job just dandy, as you say, there is little weight in these projectors.

These should be fixed into the pan, so you will need a steel bit and a masonary bit to drill through.

You could fit a 1/2'' board above the ceiling tile and fix to this, board needs to be fill size of the tile and the weight is borne on the grid. A neat wee hole through the board and tile for your cables, and you're done.

Thanks for the advice. Really appreciate it. I have the screen up and cables ran so just need to drill the holes for the mount.

So far it has been a straight forward hop so fingers crossed

    Thanks again

The suspended ceiling framing will support the projector easily. Just put a length of 3 x 1 across the frame in the roof space and screw the projector mount to this. Easiest option. As previously mentioned, check positioning for screen size/distance before committing.
