Siri response time awful on iPhone 6 on iOS 11?

I use Siri a lot for various Apple home commands, reminders, calendar etc, and since updating to iOS 11 it’s effectively become unusable. I tried stopping and restarting Siri, also changing to the male voice (which apparently forces a restart too). When you press the home button, you could wait 15 seconds for the voice…

I use Siri a lot for various Apple home commands, reminders, calendar etc, and since updating to iOS 11 it’s effectively become unusable.
I tried stopping and restarting Siri, also changing to the male voice (which apparently forces a restart too).
When you press the home button, you could wait 15 seconds for the voice input to start recording - or tell it to “set a reminder for tomorrow at 9am” and then it just seems to hang, rather than instantly ask “what do you want to be reminded about”.
Very frustrating.

Anyone seeing this, or any ideas?

It’s a known issue. I replace my 6 with an 8 but Siri lagged. I think it may be fixed in iOS 11.1
