Do You Have Any Scary Ghost Stories You Would Like To Share?

With Halloween just around the corner I was wondering do any of you have any ghost stories you would like to share or maybe some of you have seen a ghost or experienced some sort of paranormal activity. When I was young my parents and old neighbours would have us shaking in our boots especially around Halloween with some of the ghost stories they told. So let's get In to the Halloween spirit no pun intended and make them as scary as possibly. To get things going here is one my late dad told me and my brothers and sisters. When he was in his late teens he had arranged to meet a girl he had met at a local dance one night. Before he went out his dad said to him what ever you do be home before midnight. Of course he agreed but as you all know when you are with a girl you can loose track of time fairly easily. Anyway to make as long story short been the perfect gentleman he said he would walk his girlfriend home. She lived about two miles outside the town and the lighting was non existent once you went outside the town. After dropping his girlfriend home he was walking a long the country road when he heard a noise coming from the bushes. He walked a couple of more yards and said he felt something or someone was following him. He turned around and saw a black dog just staring at him . He kept on walking for about a mile and again turned around and there was the black dog staring at him again. At this stage he said he was very scared and couln'd wait to get home. On the rest of the journey home he said every couple of seconds he would look back and the black dog would be there and then he would vanish in to thin air. Eventually he got home but when he was just about to turn the key in the front door he got an errie feeling and just as he was about to close the door there was the black dog standing outside the gate staring at him again. The next morning he told his dad what had happened and all he said was now you know why I told you to be home before midnight. We asked our dad if he knew what the black dog meant and he said it was the sign of death and a couple of weeks later his brother passed away. Before that happened my dad never believed in ghosts but it really got him thinking was there really ghosts or something else out there that could not be explained.

I must say I don't believe in any kind of nonsense. I am a man of
    science and reason.

However a strange occurrence one night I have never been able to explain.
My humble room such that it is was as ever neat and ordered. It had been a long day and I was retiring late. Nothing sinister at this point.

God alone knows what heinous forces came up from the depths of hell that night. A chaotic demon force scattered the furniture breaking and shattering.
The curtains were in strips and pulled down off the walls. I myself was covered in a mystifying, yellow ectoplasm.

The strangest thing of all was two bottles of vodka that had stood full upon my mantle the previous evening were empty and strewn on the floor.

Scary stuff like you I didn't believe in ghosts or anything paranormal until I got seriously ill in 2016 and my wife was told I would have to have a life threating operation and that the odds against me surviving the operation were very slim. I honestly believe that my late dad was watching over me when I was on the operating table and that he gave me a second chance at life.
