Where to get 120mm film processed

I have 3 rolls of B+W 120mm film that I'd like processed. I went into Conn's and they wanted €60 for the lot (digital scans only) which I thought was a ludicrous price. Is there anywhere in Dublin I can get them done for cheaper? I thought it would be €10 per roll at most.

Failing that are there any online services that you would recommend? I only really want the digital files and the negatives

    Thanks

i usually go to gunns; dunno how much it is for dev& scan, but it's only about €4 for dev only.

if you are doing more, then invest in a decent scanner. The epson V500/V700/V750 range are cheap enough and decent quality. It's what I use to scan all my film on.

At this point, I've save $100's and its paid for itself multiple times over.

Is it significantly cheaper for them to just do negatives rather than negatives and digital files? I wouldn't have thought digital files would add much more onto the price.

Depends on how they do them. If they have frontier machines that can take 120 then in theory it's a matter of just enabling the scans, I assume it'd take a little longer. If they're dip & dunk then they have to effectively do the same thing as you'd end up doing, waiting for them to dry and then scanning them somehow. That would be more laborious.

Developing 120 film and scanning it, is more laborious that say 35mm and so time is money.

Even scanning on a Frontier , the larger neg needs more careful handling compared to 35mm and is slower to do.

IMO you get what you pay for. I am sure there are online processors that are cheaper but I am sure the scans wouldn't be a s good as Gunn's.

Gonna also say Gunns. They do all my 120mm rolls and I've never had a problem with them. Conns are grand too but pricey and to be honest I'd rather give my film photography money to Gunns. Don't go to the Fuji place on Abbey street. They made a mess of a couple of rolls I left in, never been back since.

Darkroom Service based in Barrow Street Dublin 2 are excellent in all formats of black & white developing and scanning. Gunns would certainly be up there too.
