Nissan Leaf - power socket always on?

I plan on installing a dashcam in my 2014 Nissan Leaf, nothing fancy or expensive, maybe this one here:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/AUKEY-Compact-Detection-G-Sensor-Recording-Black/dp/B01LWN99YA/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

It comes with a long USB power cable that plugs into an adapter that fits into the 12V power socket. So, 2 questions:

    1. Will the USB socket in the Leaf power a dashcam or not? I then don't need to use the power adapter.
    2. Are the 12V socket or USB sockets always powered on, i.e. will leaving the dashcam plugged in all the time drain the battery (12V not traction)

BTW, I'm not interested in hardwiring the dashcam, much too lazy!!

I know that the power doesn't wait on. It's cut when car is off.
As for powering a dashcam. I don't know, but I would say no as it isn't very powerful as charging an iPhone.

I have mine plugged into the fight lighter. It powers down once you shut the car off. The dash cam continues for 60 seconds or so and then shuts itself down too.

When the power is turned off in the Leaf, the 12V supply to the accessories is dead.

Hardwiring for a constant feed is actually really easy. The fuseboard is accessed by removing a clip on panel on the passenger side of the dash. Open the passenger door to get access.

I have an install thread on here which tells you what fuses to tap into. If you want the cam to work while the power is off, you need to hardwire it. It’s also much neater.

Or buy a USB power bank to plug the cam into, .The power bank will charge when driving.
I was surprised to learn recently that all the conversation in the car will be recorded!
