Electric Gates

HI My mothers electric gates were closed when power went so I opened them manually. When the power returns do I need to close them manually first before turning power to them back on? If I just turn power on will they get confused and think they are already closed!? Thanks

yeah . close them first so the catches are in place then just work away

mine wont open at all after the storm :-)
