    Hey I applied for one parent family payment two weeks ago.I was due back to work next week so my maternity benefit finshed last week but last min childminder has let me down so I will not be returning.Has anyone any idea of how long I could be waiting for a payment?thanks😊

    Really depends on how busy the office dealing with your claim is, obvious answer but there it is.

    It can also depend on how straightforward or suspicious your claim / circumstances are. It might go to an inspector which could easily add 6-8 weeks to your time frame - again depending on how busy the inspectors in your office are.

    Best advice is to call into the office and explain the circumstances. They may suggest applying for a BASI payment in the meanwhile from the welfare officer.

    The sooner you act the sooner you'll get some definitive answer.
