I have had a succession of items with damaged packaging. One item broken & another where the postman could of removed the items as the pack wasn't sealed. I now have another that, according to Amazon, was damaged & returned.

This has happened since they introduced their eco friendly boxes which fall apart.

Anyone else having this problem ?

I get regular enough deliveries, and it’s usually just a cardboard box delivered by a van, never with any issues.

Even when it’s a smaller parcel it’s usually grand.

Are you far out from big towns/depots? Could they be sloshing around in the back of a van in a big sack of other packages?

No it's the packaging. For example I ordered a fan heater & several smaller items. They put it in one box with just a piece of paper as packing. The heater was heavy & crushed one item.

was the external box damaged as well?

Yes. The cardboard is really thin. I had a 30 euro torch delivered & the postman joked that he could of removed it & left an empty box inside the package as neither end was sealed

I have been using Amazon for years with no problems. This type of packaging is new

to be honest i'm not really sure what packaging you are talking about. any stuff i order from amazon normally comes in a sturdy box or one of these

Everything I've ordered has been fine so far. Although I can see where your coming from about not being sealed properly.

I think Disco is talking about the A3 boxes.

Plenty of issues with Amazon packaging but don't ever say that in feedback or they get really thick about it.

I've had a few of the boxes damaged and no way is the tape they use as wide as ED's picture above so also had boxes that were open but not damaged.

The worst problem however is a large box with a few delicate items in it with little other packaging. An example being Hard Disk Drives with no protection other than an antistatic bag left to rattle around in a large box.

Even had issues with the book type of packaging posted by ohnonotgmail. One this year like that really had me going another HDD left to rattle around in the book type packaging. The HDD's weight and momentum had pushed one of the ends out when I guess it was dropped so I got an open box with a HDD sitting at one end of it that could have fallen out any time (probably already had).

They don't like criticism. I was reminded that they are trying to save the planet. I have noticed that it's worst with Warehouse deals.

I even commented in a review that the packaging of the item (not amazons packing) was good after other buyers has said the goods came in unmarked plastic bags mine came in a retail box.

Amazon pulled the review on the bases that your not allowed to mention amazons packaging in a review it took three emails before they would agree I wasn't referring to their packaging.

But if the goods are damaged amazon are quick to replace them so thats good. I put the packaging down to amazon paying staff peanuts then expecting more work out of them than can be done in day so inevitably stuff just gets thrown in boxes with little thought.

So why do they need staff?
