We're putting an induction hob on an island. The ceiling are quite high, so no possibilty of having a hood.

We've been shown an induction hob with a extractor in the centre, and also the type that lift up at the back of the hob on a motor.

Looking for any opinions on either

When I was in Kube kitchens they had two models on display. Sorry I don't know a huge amount about them but you should be able to get the brands and model numbers which should hopefully give you more info for research. There is another option which is an extractor fan that looks like a light that hangs down over the island (suitable for vaulted ceilings) but they look a bit too industrial imo.
