    Hi just wondering if anyone can identify the bird species from this sound file. It making this noise constantly at the moment and id be interested to know what it is. Many thanks

    Hi Thundercat,

    Suprious has the right family (a member of the finch family) but it is actually a Bullfinch. They have a real mournful call and that is what is calling in your clip.

    Thanks very much for the reply, and to everyone else who replied. Yes it was taken with my phone hence the poor quality so it wasn't much to go on. It was clearer in person I can assure you! Well the Bullfinch was still at it when I left the house an hour ago.
