Is anyone else having difficulties with the search function on Ancestry.com?

    It's beyond frustrating, especially lately.

Seems they could improve their system dramatically.

Difficult how? I've been using it a lot lately and it seems fine. What problems are you encountering?

ok, good to know mod9, thanks! :( Must just be me then...

Tons actually...the Limit search options (from broad to more exact) is pure futility - it repeatedly insists no records found, but when you search thru their massive database, exact records are interspersed... The Continue Search option seems all but disabled, it takes you completely out of the persons search record and you must begin again (it never used to do this, I could continue searching keeping the data intact and locate more records they previously listed)... Now the new search does not bring up any of the records found 5 minutes prior, even though I didn't change any search criteria (that drove me bananas!) ... Last night, when I searched, the search data itself seemed to disappear (in the search criteria menu) mid search, and names. locations, and times did not match anything the search criteria listed. This hasn't happened to this extent before. It has felt like an archaic way of doing things in the past, now it's near impossible.

Have you sent them some feedback?

Seems tons of people on forum have requested a fix or answers, I saw last night. Ancestry has offered them no proper response (in a few weeks time) as to why it's happening, no advice (other than to clean their caches), and no time frame for fixing the problem. Apparently the only reply some have gotten (from feedback) is "we recognise there may be an issue" ...It's been going on since beginning of October, according to thread complaints.

Since it's a known issue, then I'll lock this thread and leave Ancestry to deal with it. You can always complain in person at BTOP this weekend.
