Will my beard ever look good

New account because I find seeking this advice a little embarrassing.

I am 26 and have never grown a beard. I think I have gotten about a week in and stopped a few times. My older brothers and my father all have great facial hair and did at my age. But all three of them are bald or balding, my actual hair is very thick and there are no signs of recession. My chest is pretty much hairless. The main reason I stop is because there are patches where I observe little growth and I think if I let it grow it will just look patchy and stupid. I work in an office where I have a little bit of freedom with appearance as long as I look reasonably neat.

The truth is I am bit of a baby face and I think it is starting to hold me back personally and professionally. It is the aspect of my appearance I am most unhappy with. I have to do much more negotiation on thing than I used to and I'd like to look less childish.

I feel ridiculous doing this but attached are neck, chin and side. Any chance you can just tell me outright if it is worth persevering or if it will fail / look ridiculous. New users can't post links, maybe a kind mod can edit.

Give it more time. Grow it thru the end of November so you can claim (or really participate in) a Movember campaign which gives you a handy reason to feel less embarrassed if it doesn't fill in.

Get a stubble trimmer and keep it that length.

    I've had a caveman beard since 17.

However two of my friends had a light beard like yours until recently and they are now 28 with full beards growing in

So I'd say another 2 or 3 years and it will fill in nicely more than likely.

Just seems to be a genetics thing time wise a local lad never shaved till 30 it was all peach fuzz until then
