Swearing affadavits

    Hi everyone.
I am awaiting some affadavits and will have to take them to a solicitor to be sworn. Then they go to the high court.
Is this simply getting a solicitor to witness my signature and countersigning or is there something else to this?

Any idea what this may cost?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes. Just go to an independent Solicitor or a Commissioner for Oaths, and they can witness your signature.

It's your affidavit, and you are swearing that it's contents are true and accurate to the best of your knowledge. The Solicitor then witnesses your signature by signing with his/her signature. Oh, and bring ID, this will be needed to verify to the Solicitor that you are who you say you are.

The cost is €10 per signature for the jurat page (main signing page for the affidavit) and then it's €2 per exhibit, if there are any exhibits.

Most Solicitors do this stuff everyday so any one that you go to will know the procedure and advise you of all of the above.
