    Hi everyone

    I had an interview on Friday { uk retailer} and they rang me this morning to offer me the job which I am delighted about, the lady on the phone advised me to bring my passport with me on the first day I have searched all day and cant find it I havent been on a holiday in years i think the passport expired in 2012. I cant get though to tell them as it is a retailer and i think they have closed because of the weather now im worried that I may not be able to work for them would anyone have any information I do have a valid driving licence and a birth cert thanks

    I shouldn't imagine that not having a passport will be an issue as long as you produce the driving license and birth cert instead.

    UK employers are generally more procedurally 'strict' than Irish ones but the fact you don't have a passport won't be an issue - in my opinion. They'll be open tomorrow so you can check this then.
