His last tweet was from hospital last week.

I saw his standup a few times a long time ago and I was a big fan. I also really liked Sean's Show back in the 90s.

Talented and very funny guy. RIP. :(

****. Completely out of the blue on Friday evening I was on the toilet and thought to myself "remember Sean's show" and had a gander at Hughes wiki page and looked at bits about the show. :(

Very sad news. I mainly remember him from Buzzcocks and I preferred it when he was there. I must check out some of his stand up shows. I liked this line of his I saw someone mention on Twitter:

"I saw my brother fight at the National Stadium. It was a Depeche Mode concert."

    "Great Prologue"

Sad news. Really enjoyed his standup when I saw him.

I thought he was great, loved him with Peter Davison in the Last Detective. A great ambassador for Battersea Dogs home too.

    RIP.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Very sad. A genuinely funny Irish comedian. A rarity. I spoke to him at a gig once, just a 'how's it going, love your show'.

Worked with Sean back in the mid-eighties in Superquinn Knocklyon and he was a real nice guy and also funny as fcuk back then and remember the time he told me he was giving it all up to be a comedian, wished him all the best and followed his career ever since.
Very sad to hear that he passed because of Liver problems and can't help but think "that there but for the grace of God, go I" as I survived similar issues.
