Concrete side entrance path extension

I'm looking to extend our side path to provide some space for our bins. I've done some research and I thought I'd double check that my plan makes sense before taking this on as I've never laid out concrete. The area is small enough, maybe 3-4m2.

Firstly I was going to dig to a minimum of 10cms depth from the level of the path I'm extending. Then I was going put down some formwork/planks to keep the concrete straight and neat, stakes behind the planks to hold them in place. Then I was going to pour a few bags of gravel/stones/sand in the area and spread them out until they are level. Then I was going to put some rebar on rocks/stones so that it's up off the ground. This I'm less sure about as I don't have tools that can cut rebar (well not sure a jigsaw is ideal but I guess with a metal blade it might do the job) so I was maybe going to get individual bars and tie them together with metal wire. Finally I was going to hire a mixer and pour out the concrete. I was going to use some wooden planks to screed; I'm not sure how much the finishing tools for nice rounded corners cost so I may skip them if they cost too much.

    Does this sound OK?
