I went to see a flat share today and everything was perfect apart from the fact that the central heating doesn't work very well and the occupants don't wish to use it as it is very expensive so I was wondering if there are any energy efficient electric heaters I can buy so I don't freeze in the winter months. Or am I crazy and I should just say sayonara.

If the central heating is expensive then it’s probably just a cold house, and using electric non storage heater will probably be even more expensive. I’d just look for somewhere else tbh.

The radiators were old and he said they didn't get much out of them and the bill was massive trying to heat the space...

If ye’re splitting the ESB bill and it’ll take a lot to heat it then I can see trouble ahead.

The rent + bills was fixed but obviously if I needed to throw in something extra if the bill spiked I would for the sake of living in the flat. It's very cheap.
