It depends on what you want, or are willing to do. Packing shelves, car washing, lollipop man/woman, part time work at whatever you did pre-retirement, clerical work for a small sole trader, grinds for students....
    What's your skill set?

Home care for even older people is what lots of caring types do. Usually have to complete a FETAC course or two to get qualified for it.

Depends what you retire from I suppose. I know a good few ex army driving taxis. Coppers also retire a bit earlier than most, and a lot of of them go into private security, ironic really considering that the private security industry by and large is run by shady characters. Ex coppers are brilliant doormen. All the skills needed are already indoctrinated since the days they spent in Templemore. Most of the upmarket clubs in town would have at least one ex cop on the security team.

There was a courier firm when I lived in Australia made up entirely of retirees. Called themselves something like the Grey Gofers. They operated solely on adverts placed on shop noticeboards and personal recommendations. When I asked one of them why they didn't advertise in the local papers or online he explained, "Christ kid we're all retired, don't wanna go back to the grindstone."

    How about fishing?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I doubt there is much money in that, most fishermen seem to complain about the fish being "fished out" / not there.

Listen up pal. Life is short. If you are retired get a hobby. You have done your bit. Enjoy yourself. Plenty of social hobbies about that will keep you active and involved with others. Works is is a pile of ****e.

I don't think I'll have this problem TBH.. I have a sad feeling I'll be working until I physically can't anymore with the way things have gone :(

Helping out with the charity of your choice. Could be training kids, helping in a shop, or onto the board of directors/management. Experience and skills are always useful.

My ole lad works a few 1/2 days a week in a school for special kids as a caretaker. It's sort of a hobby for him really but it's a few quid too. I hope he continues it for as long as he enjoys it, he's nearly 70.
