Which Grand C Max?

Hi all. Currently own a 2011 Grand C Max, it’s in very good condition, has 97k k fully paid off. Very happy with it but starting to worry that it could cost me over the next few years and figure it’s only a matter of time before I’m forced to change. Started to mull over a change as I saw a very low mileage (5k) 152 yesterday, cost to change €9k (max budget). Same spec as my own, not keen on colour!
Other options, same spec 152 55k km, lovely colour €7.5 k to change or 152 30k km, lovely colour €8.5k to change.
Is the very low mileage worth €1500? I also know I shouldn’t really be hung up on colour but I just don’t particularly like it!

They are both low mileage for 2 year old cars, I wouldn't pay 1500 for the lower one if both cars are otherwise identical. Colour is a personal thing and if you're not happy with the colour then just wait until one in the right colour becomes available.

I'd leave the v low mileage one, i.e. the mileage is too low! Sounds like a good deal either way, the one 8.5k to go up 4 years makes for cheap motoring

I'd go for the low mileage one. Less time on the road makes for less wear on everything. Even if it drove lots of short journeys it will be fine at such low usage.

An ultra low mileage diesel isn’t necessarily a good thing either.

I agree, but at 5k Kms it is just kind of unused. Even 1000 5k trips won't do much harm.

I think I’m going to go with the low mileage one, it is from a reputable main dealer with 3 years left on the manufacturers warranty so hopefully any problems and I’m covered!

Ok stop!. I was in the same position as you when my car hit a certain mileage and someone talked some sense into me..I'm no accountant or mechanic but imo your 2011 won't cost you anywhere near 9k to keep on the road over the course of the next 10 years. Unless you decide to redesign the interior, change colour a few times and drive it to the moon and back.

Ford's are seriously reliable cars, once you maintain it, it should only cost you the tax every year with the odd replacement parts etc which are cheap as chips in Ford's compared to paying out to change. We changed the whole rear suspension in our smax and it cost 800 euro that and a set of brake calipers is all it's needed at 170 k miles not km.. small money.
