Hi all, I just taxed my car for 12 months as I had no plans to sell but I've just been offered what appears to be a great deal so am considering changing. Is there anything I can do with the tax in terms of getting money back?!, I guess not!

As far as I'm aware, you've answered your own question... But you can reflect that in your selling price.

Yeah you can untax it in the untax office down the road from the tax office :):)

Add tax cost in the total price.

Sold my car in May of this year, 3 weeks after i put 12 months tax on it, i used it as leverage with the dealer where i purchased my current car, i got them to tax the new car as part of the deal.

Long story short you can only claim back the tax if the car is being scrapped or permanently exported.

If it is being scrapped it must have a minimum of 3 months tax left to qualify for the refund.

Wonder if you're entitled to a 14 day cooling off period if done online?
