Hello there to everyone, I have a slightly complicated issue that I am hoping I can get a bit of help with so here goes.

Next week on the 19th I have an appointment with this Seetec crowd and after having a read about them by other Boards users, I am truly looking forward to that experience :( but this is my issue......In March of this year I applied for Disability allowance and only on Monday I have found out that my claim has been refused, I got the refusal letter but I was expecting this refusal and I am appealing this decision, unrelated to this DA claim I seriously hurt my shoulder earlier in the year and after getting to the bottom of how I got it, my GP gave me a letter stating that I am unfit for work due to this injury and she gave me a letter for the DSP stating that I am unfit for work until 31/12/2017, I do believe that I will get another similar letter when this one expires as the injury is still there causing me issues but for the time being I'm unfit for work until the new year. I gave this letter into Bishops square as normal and I was expecting to be put on some other payment for the time being but the guy said to me, we are going to leave you on JA as normal and you can continue to collect your payment as normal and come in once every 3 months to this office to sign on stating that I am fit for work etc, you know the 3 conditions you have to agree with when you sign there, I have already done this once and am due to do it again on the 31st of this month.

I would dearly like to know is this right? I mean no matter what, I should not be on JA but more likely getting paid by the CWO or something.

The fact that I am unfit for work due to the shoulder injury and have the GP letter to prove this, is that alone enough to get out of having to deal with the lovely people over in Seetec?

I have applied for DA as said for 2 qualifying conditions and my GP has filled out the forms etc stating how these 2 conditions effect my everyday life and how in her opinion I would benefit from being on DA, does the fact that my GP obviously believes that I am unfit for work have any bearing here regardless of getting the DA awarded or not?

I would love to know where you think I stand on this and what if anything I should do, any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. one last thing while I have you here please, when appealing the DA decision it says to do it in writing, but can this be typed out and signed or must it be hand written?

    Thanks again.

My advice would be to go see your local CWO and see if she or he can put you on supplementary welfare so you are no longer eligible for Seetec.
