Tune in radio problems?

Anyone else having problems with the app?

For the last few weeks I've found it's not connecting to stations or if it eventually does it frequently stalls.

I'm using the free version on a number of devices (new and old) and on both wifi and 3/4g.

Yes, same here. I've found it regularly hangs.

Can't say I have, I was using it most mornings this week between 0630-0730

I use the pro version, which is often free on the Amazon store btw. (Android)

Pro or free version will make no difference. It's the broadcasters that supply the stream, and they'll be the same across both versions. No audio is routed through TuneIn at all. Sometimes they'll insert an ad before a stream starts, but that's it.

Your issues will either be a problem with the stations themselves or your data connection.

Which stations are you having issues with?

Have you tried any other radio apps to see if you're having the same problem on those?

Welcome to the forum. I edited your post ... please don't type in caps!:)

TuneIn is a really popular radio app, from which you can stream domestic or international stations.

To answer the OP's question, I haven't noticed any drop in signal over the past week (aside from the sometimes-mediocre coverage on Three network)

No problems with Tune in,and as an aside my internet radio has become a lot better with less drop outs especially BBCR4.

I was having trouble with all the stations but I mostly listen to the Beebs and NPR Berlin.

I got a new phone, transferred apps over and problem continued but yesterday I got an update on the app and now it's working...except for NPR Berlin.

I'm on Virgin wifi at home and Eir on mobile.

I've noticed that over the past month that Tune In Radio buffers a lot more frequently. I have checked my phone signal each time and have always had a 4G signal on each occasion. I use the app through Android Auto with a Galaxy A7 (2016) phone.

However, I noticed that no matter what time of the day or night that I cross over Leeson Street Bridge going towards Stephen's Green, Tune in Radio stops and begins to buffer. Full 4G signal. I have to stop the app and begin it again at Stephen's Green. Weird.

This problem would not be related to the app. Sounds like even though you have signal, your data connection becomes unavailable for a brief period causing the buffering.

since tunein updated their website last year the search facility doesn't bring up half the stations for a particular area. for example if i look for dublin, the old search would bring up all the stations (along with podcasts and other relevant stuff to dublin) that i could ignore as i would be looking for stations only. now it only brings up some of the stations and a few podcasts.
the old search facility was much better.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

I just added a shortcut to the few stations I normally listen to.
Always find those radio apps kill the phone battery, that and an irritating ad on start up.
