INIS visa expedition (special circumstances)

    A bit of background:

I am an Irish national and returned here in May, after living in South Korea for three years. My boyfriend, a citizen of Pakistan, is still in Korea as he is studying for an MBA, which he will finish in March. Just before I returned to Ireland I discovered I was pregnant. The baby is due on December 8th but may be have to be delivered two weeks early due to some complications.

My boyfriend wants to come here by November 24th and stay till the end of December. He was only able to apply for the visa a few weeks ago because he needed to first renew his Korean one, to have the required 3 months left on it, after departing Ireland.

Anyway he applied for a short stay (visiting family and friends) visa at the Irish embassy in Seoul a few weeks ago. However they send the applications to the INIS in Dublin for processing, and then they send them back to Seoul. I checked the current processing times, and it looks like they will only be processing his application when I'm having the baby.

Obviously it's really important to us both that he's there for the birth of our child. I emailed the INIS 11 days ago explaining the situation but I didn't get any reply. I've heard a lot of people have problems getting a response from them, and there is no phone number.

So I was basically just wondering, what can I do? Can I go to the INIS in Dublin or do you have to be the applicant to get an appointment? Any advice is appreciated.
