USB Device Drivers

Having a bit of bother getting my Xiaomi Mi5 (with Lineage Os) to be recognised under Windows 7 when plugged in.

Just performed a Windows reinstall over the weekend and I haven't gotten it working since.

So far I've tried reinstalling chipset drivers, ADB drivers, a Google driver but none will pick up the phone. Anyone any idea?

Works fine in work and no settings changed on the phone since.

It's something to do with Windows security since 7. I cant remember exactly but look up selective startup or something like that. I think you have to press an F key whilst the system is starting up, go into this mode and then install the USB driver.

    Edit: Try this

No luck with that method, I've tried installing a host of other things but nothing works. I'm almost tempted to reinstall windows again

I've always had trouble with drivers on my Android phones (the last 3 at least). This program installs drivers that just work, no matter what phone I'm using. Worth a shot if you're at your wits end...

Haven't used it for a while, but I think there is an option to just install drivers...

No luck with that either. MiFlash is giving me a warning about missing drivers but it doesn't seem to be able to install them either. I'm giving up, I'm putting windows back on fresh, seems easier than this messing about.

Back to a fresh install of windows, like before, and all works out of the box when plugging in my mi5! Not sure what went wrong the last time round!
