Registered user going unreg'd for this.

Submitted an application for D.A in Mid September, got a text earlier on this week saying it was received.

Will they go from the September date or the date of the text i received?

I have a history of physical and mental health problems over the course of the last 13 years and it impacted my life so badly i am on illness benefit for the last 6 months.

    Thank you for reading.

It's from the date you sent it in, the text they send you is just confirming that they have it.

    Thank you for your reply.

What is the average processing time?

I've heard many different figures plus they usually refuse applications at the first attempt?

The claim will be started from the date no the form. However they deal with the applications in order of recieving them. Atm they say its a basic 12-16 weeks to hear back from first viewing on the application, which barring something like cancer is usually a refusal.
The standard wait time for DA is 12+ months unfortunately.
Best to make sure you have as much evidence as possible to add to your application as they may refuse or request more from you

Most likely the new year so before i hear back from them.

In my application i included a letter from the social worker in my local mental health unit.

I have a personality disorder and disc degenerative disease.

I have been an inpatient in hospital also for mental health problems.

My doctor kept onto the form for 4 days as my file is fairly detailed.

My only fear is that if i am refused i may have alot of hassle getting supplementary welfare allowance while any potential appeal is pending.

I am far from fit for work mentally and physically.
