    Hi there,

I couldnt find any answer to this on Ryanair website so just wondering is it possible to add a bag for the hold if you've ALREADY CHECKED IN - or is it too late? We hope to just go with hand luggage but worried now we may not have enough room and may have to add a bag for the hold?

    Many thanks

Yes you can. Just assure your boarding card is updated after you added the bags.

There's a good chance they will put it in hold for you for free, though it should look like hand luggage (rather than a massive suitcase).

Sorry..another question!..We've just realised our laptop-17"+ in laptop bag, which we need to bring, is much bigger than the 35cmx20x20 tiny measurements allowed for your laptop/handbag in cabin..are they strict about your laptop/handbag size or will we be able to bring ours on eventhough its bigger?

And where do they actually check the size of your hand luggage- ie. is it at gate when about to board!!?? Thanks- it's been years since we travelled abroad so totally out of touch!!

Have never seen them check the second smaller item of luggage but as of recently unless you pay for priority boarding you will have to leave your primary carry on at the gate to be taken in the hold.

Once the smaller item will fit under the seat you should be fine.

""What you CAN bring on board

One small bag e.g. handbag, laptop bag etc. not exceeding 35cm x 20cm x 20cm
One cabin bag, not exceeding 55cm x 40cm x 20cm in size and 10kg in weight, plus can be carried per passenger who has purchased priority booking or a Plus/Flexi Plus ticket.
Priority Boarding costs €5 if purchased at the time of the initial flight booking, If added via the my booking facility on our website, or up to 45 minutes before the scheduled flight departure time, via the Ryanair app, the fee is €6.

If you have not purchased priority booking or a Plus/Flexi Plus ticket you can still take 2 pieces of baggage however your 10kg cabin bag will be tagged at the boarding gate and placed in the hold at no additional charge. You will be able to take your smaller bag into the cabin."

What is my checked baggage allowance?
Each passenger can purchase up to 3 checked bags of 20 kilos.
These can be purchased either when making the initial booking or can be added to a reservation via the My Booking facility up to 2 hours before the scheduled flight departure time. A higher baggage fee of €40 per person/per one way flight applies when checked bags are purchased after initial booking via My Booking, a Ryanair call centre or airport ticket desk. During peak travel periods, such as Christmas/Easter/Summer and on selected routes, the fee for a checked bag will be €35/£35 per person, per one way flight.
The pooling or sharing of purchased checked baggage allowances is permitted with others included on the same flight reservation when checking in together.

There are baggage size checkers at check-in/baggage drop-off & at the boarding gates
