Looking at putting some kind of heating into empty fireplace for the winter. Costs of stoves putting me off at the moment. Looking into using a dog basket for the short term. Chimney and flue liner are new. Would I need anything else before i go putting on a fire. Surround of fireplace is red brick and set back into the wall. Any advice appreciated, excluding efficient v stove. It wouldn't be used to hear the house; just the one room.
