    Hi
My German Shepard loves his toys and shredding things, he has now started on his specially made snake toy(he loves to shake that) so not ideal.

What kind of toys that are shredd proof do ppl here recommend?

Kong are pretty good, but my German Shepherd has finally made her hay through 1 layer on it, so now it only has 2 ridges instead of 3. That took her almost 2 years though so good value for money, especially considering she found it in a field

Finn has shredded everything, including a "With Biteguard, for strong chewers!" thing (which took 15 minutes) except his Kong fox and Kong bear. The fox has started to tear, after 18 months. I'd never buy a different toy, unless it was specifically for him to be able to destroy it. Runner up was actually a crocodile from Lidl.

My terrier is a serial shredder. The only toy she has managed not to destroy is real tennis balls....ones from a sports shop and not dog tennis balls.

Kongs have lasted a while and I used to have this toy which was three rubber rings connected....think it took her about 2 years to get through these so not completely indestructible but lasts longer than any other toys.

If it's something to use while you are there then why not go along with the shredding? Ours love an egg carton or box that rice/teabags etc come in. I throw a few treats in the bottom and let them rip it apart to get to the treats/kibble etc. Or how about using old clothes and platting strips together to make a tuggy?

My terrier is obviously a serious shredder - his kong was destroyed in one afternoon :o

Ours just loves this too. :D

I buy grubby stuffed toys in charity shop - 50cents - then theres a shredding fest.I stupidly gave him a huge teddy last night (it was free) discovered that it was stuffed with horrible little cubes of yellow foam - eeeekkkkk! such a mess - dog was totally over excited, and in doggy heaven. Took ages to clean up the mess - put half shredded ted and all the cubes of foam into a bin bag, he pined beside the bag half the night

Haha that's a great idea, I literally have 2 black bin bags full of my old teddies won at fairs etc that my mam recently forced me to take from my home house, so now I know how they'll be used/gotten rid of ðŸ˜
OP there's a group on Facebook (if you're on it) called Canine Enrichment, people on there have lots of different toys and different ways to use bits and pieces from around the house to keep a dog amused.

My GSD loves his Hunter toys, specifically these two...

The rope part is long gone, but he still has the large rubber part, in fact he's had the second one linked for nearly 2 years and he'll be 3 years old in May.

He chews them over and over, throws them around then settles down to chew on it again, sure they look battered, but they are still in one piece. It's his favourite toy (it's also the only one he is allowed for non-training purposes) and he isn't without it in the house.

Don't want to resurrect an old thread but said I would throw my 2 cent in here. My German Shepard is a nightmare for getting through toys! As previously mentioned, Kong are the inky toys he has that actually last. His favorite toy, that has lasted for months, is his elk antler. Can be bought for €10-€30 depending on the size and are excellant value for money considering the length of play time/ activity my GSD gets

When I had the collie, I gave here a stuffed toy from V de p.

She thoughtfully chewed off an ear and swallowed it whole. All that dog cared about was food..
