I just checked tracking number that says my item is at the postal depot. I will probably get an attempted delivery card when I get home. I could pick it up myself except I'm on foot and it's 20kg package. It's too heavy to be carrying home.

So my question is would they attempt delivery again? Do I have to be home for it? I'm not going to be home for it. So what can I do now?

I wouldn't mind except it's from Amazon and they have an option and you can have your parcel left in the porch which I obviously have that option ticked. But it's gone back to the depot. So what now?

If they leave you a slip then you can arrange a delivery with them but they will probably charge you. Other alternative is get a lift to the postal depot and pick it up from there just make sure to bring the slip and some I.d with you

In many cases they will automatcially try and redeliver in the evening. - This started a couple of months ago. Also local delivery offices are mostly open til 7pm

Turns out that I didn't get the attempted delivery note. I missed an phone call earlier in the morning and that's when they must have sent back to the depot. But how come I didn't get a note?

This happened me this morning. Had a missed call and a text. There was no delivery note in the hallway as I was going to go up to the depot and collect it. To my surprise a nice postman called to the house just after 5 and handed me my package.

Yes, if you get a phone call, then they will be back, I even got a parcel at 6.30 pm.
