putting concrete slabs down

    I'm putting these down I have some on lawn small ones as a foot path

    What I want to know is the area now I have is the bark chippings can I put the slabs on this or do I need something firmer

    Any help appreciated

    How deeps the bark bits?
    It would do no harm to put them on it but you would like them all level and neat.
    Personally I'd scrap it away to a firm surface then but a level bed on sand down to lay the slabs on.

    You could quite easily get slabs to lie nice and level on bark chips, but they will not stay that way for long. A solid surface would be much better.
