My mom is selling her Rolex watch that she got as a present a number of years ago..It's a Ladies Oyster Perpetual Date Just . She mislaid the box so obviously, that will lessen the price. I'm trying to put the serial number off the braclet into serial number checkers but it doesn't find the watch.

Can somebody help me finding out how much its value is please? It's in fantastic condition, hardly worn. Silver bracelet.

    Thank you

Your best bet will be to bring it into the likes of Dawson Jewellers and have it professionally valued by them and get the paperwork to support that. That will help when trying to sell it. Anyone spending a couple of thousand euro on a second hand watch will will want to be assured of its authenticity and service history. If it hasn't been serviced it may need to be in advance of any sale.

Not having the box and paperwork will harm the potential sale price but shouldn't prevent it from selling.

You could bring it to the likes of O Reilly Auction house in town and let them sell it for you less their commission? Least you wont have to deal with the usual tyre kickers on adverts and done deal etc..

Is it possible that the bracelet has its own serial number that is not the same as the watch's one?

I'm not sure, to be honest. I know little about these watches as they're something that I never had any interest in. I'll try to do some research and post as much information as I can.

It's a lovely watch with fluid timekeeping and nice and heavy.. that's as far as my knowledge goes :D

Rolex serial numbers are not on the braclet but are on the watch itself between the lugs and only visible when you remove the braclet. When you say silver I assume you mean stainless depending on condition etc a secondhand one would retail for about 2,000 plus, but remember your watch will need a service and clean which can in a Rolex dealer cost a pretty penny.

I was thinking as much about having to get it cleaned etc... I'm assuming it will cost a good few hundred. I will need time to do all this before truly being ready to sell.

Once all this is done I will post on here and maybe someone would like a good deal on it before advertising elsewhere.

Thanks to all posters for the advice.
