Does anyone know what Self Employed equivalent of a P45 is?

    Hi Guys,

I'm just wondering what would be the Self Employed equivalent of a P45?

    Here's the context:

I'm self employed but have recently taken up a part time teaching position with a cdvec (evening classes) which is a PAYE role it's only one evening per week but in order to get paid I still have to go through PAYE and submit a P45 which I of course can't get as I'm still self employed in all my other work.

I started in self employment through BTWE so have been exempt from income tax for my first two years (I'll be liable for tax from 2018 onwards but as of now I'm still in my two year exemption from income tax period) so I'm not sure how that affects anything.

Basically I'm hoping someone could advise me what exactly a self employed person should be submitting in this situation???

So would anyone have any idea what I should be submitting in lieu of a P45?

I'd be grateful for any advice here as I can't find anything clear on Revenue website.

    Thanks a million!

Ring Revenue, they need to send out a tax credit cert to your employers, I'm sure you can either allocate your personal allowance to either the new employment or leave it to claim with the self employment. Either way you will get a PAYE allowance anyway so once your employer has the cert they will know how to tax you.

Similar to if someone had been out of PAYE working for a long time, their last p45 would be useless even if they had one, only relevant within a certain time frame.

    Thanks phormium.

So basically when I ring revenue and let them know they'll send the info directly to the college?

    Have I got that right?
    Thanks again!
