Common Snipe

Recent trip to Iceland, out walking one day and a snipe sprung up beside the track, she was moving with about 4-5 chicks, they must have just crossed the path moments before. I think she was taking them to take a drink as I couldn't see where they could have crossed the stream in picture two. It was right on a very popular walk in Iceland, right next to a camping ground. Lots of wild life in the area.

Had drumming snipe on the farm this year! Hard to prove breeding though.
