Need Aluminium Plate

    Anyone know where I can buy a piece of 5083 cast tooling aluminium plate (450 x 450 x 8mm)...

    I found a supplier but €200 (not including vat) is way over the top especially when you consider that the very same company in the UK quoted less than €50, and Aluminum Warehouse also in the UK quoted £34.99 including taxes (unfortunately neither of the UK companies will ship to Ireland)...

    I'm building a 3D printer and the plate is the last part... I guess I'll be using a piece of rolled aluminium if I can source some good plate...

    Use Parcel motel, An Post also do a similar service

    Tried that but no luck... An post only allow small packages, well much smaller than 450x450mm, and when I used my Parcel Motel address with Aluminium Warehouse it stuck a whopping £200 for delivery and they wanted a UK phone number (mandatory)...

    What we need is a real address pal, someone that will allow you to use their address and phone number and when the post arrives they would ship it to you... I'd pay for this...

    It's time to contact my long lost cousins in the UK ;)

    Have you asked a courier (DPD,Nightline etc.) for a price to pick up in the UK and deliver direct to you?

    Parcel wizard are run by DPD and deliver to your house. I've used them several times and find them brilliant.

    how about one of guys that make cnc s there a few about.
    stoney cnc in Dublin work with a guy from Kilkenny that builds them.
    he has lots of gear and could make what you want
