Possibly being made redundant

Just looking for advice on my current work situation. Working for a private business and we've been told that a new buyer will be coming in at the end of the month once sale contracts have been signed.

Our current manager hasn't told us anything about the terms of the sale - whether the incoming owner will be buying the current business or whether he will buy the building etc, and open as a different brand/business. From what I can gather though it will be the latter and we'll all be released from our contracts at the end of the month from the current business.

What I'm looking to find out is at what point do they have to inform us of this decision or when the company will wind down? The company has 8-12 employees, most of whom have only been part of the business in the last 12 months. There are two or three that have over two years service so they will be the only ones entitled to any redundancy, but will they also have to get further notice beforehand?

For me it's just pretty uncertain times and it would be good to have a timeline on how quickly we will find out.

    Thanks in advance.
