Combi Gas Boiler v's Air Source cost

    Hi,

We are looking at a renovation project for an 130m2 bungalow. We need to replace the central heating and are on a budget (isn't everyone!).

I am wondering what the cost different is between purchase price & installation for a combi gas boiler with radiators v's air source heat pump with UFH.

To give some information the central heating at the moment blows hot air through floor and ceiling ducts. So there is no wet plumbed central heating. We will also most likely be pouring a new insulated concrete base for the house (at the moment suspend timber floors).

Will there be extra costs involved in construction works if we got with air source i.e would we need to improve air tightness or would this only be if we decided to go with a MHRU?

I have done some searching around on the topic but never seem to see a price comparison on the installation & initial purchase price only the comparison of running costs.

Being honest I like the idea of the air source system and think that its the future given developments in photovolatic and battery storage. However, budget dictates at the moment!

    Thanks,
