Probably a pretty common thread but here is what I'm looking for if people wanna shoot out suggestions cos I'm pretty open

Just had an insignia that had an engine go so no Vauxhall shouts please

    Looking for (in order)

    -reliability
    - milage (no more than 60/70k)
    - 1.4 or 1.6 L but has to have 130bhp (give or take)
    - modern interior (Bluetooth audio and phone)
    - probably prefer a petrol (last 2 cars had problems later on and were diesel.)

Budget is probably around the 10g mark but could stretch a little higher for something I really like

    Cheers

What's your driving pattern like? Mileage and is it in traffic or free driving.. the Honda Civic 1.6 diesel is a peach of an engine. I'm not sure what 10k would buy you in a Civic..

Yeah I was looking at civics actually. Drive about 25 mins to work Mon to Fri and small hit at the wkend. I'd imagine in on about 10k a year.

Is the driving stop start or do you get up to speed limits? Sounds like petrol might be safer bet alright. The 1.6 diesel engine in the Civic gets up to temp pretty quick so you might be ok with small driving. Phenomenal mpg from it. Close to 70mpg
