I bought a lamp over the weekend. The bulb is a screw on type. It looks a pretty standard lamp. Is the standard screw on bulb "E 27' ?

Could be either E14 or E27.

+1 was in a pound shop today looking at them. All the Edison screw (ES) bulbs were either E14 or E27. The number is the diameter of the screw in mm.

E14 is often labelled Small Edison Screw (SES).
