    Hey Dentists,

Do you know if the above can be got (stronger than bonjella). My friend has Chrones and gets multiple mouth ulcers which are incredibly painful... she used to get one from her dentist but he says its now discontinued?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Bonjela does not numb gums/ulcers, in fact it can irritate them...

Mild local anaesthetic gel is available, often seen as teething gel (benzocaine) although I don't think its for sale here, I get a stash in the US when I'm there.

Stronger local gel is in the dental surgery but not for home use...

Your friend needs to see an oral medicine specialist where they MAY consider topical steroid rinses to reduce the frequency and severity of the mouth ulcers rather than just numbing them when they come....
