Washing Machine Suitable for Low Water Pressure

    Hi all

Our trusty 16 year old Miele has given up the ghost so I'm on the lookout for a new washing machine. Our water is pumped from a well to a header tank in the loft, we live in an old single storey cottage so the pressure is low.

The Miele didn't like the low water pressure and the wash would throw up a "Check inlet" error during the rinse cycle. In order to prevent this and allow the wash to complete, I would pour in several jugs of water during the rinse cycle. Not very convenient as I could not leave the machine unattended during the wash, instead having to babysit the thing and listen out for the rinse cycle starting.

I know I could fit a booster pump which I have done for a separate supply out to a shed, but it's just another thing likely to go wrong, I'm happy enough with the pressure to taps, toilet cistern takes an age to fill but there are only two of us in the house.

So my question is are there any brands or models of machine that will work with low water pressure?

    Thanks

Maybe just look at installing a more direct water feed to the (new) machine that should improve the flow rate a bit.
Assuming the pump can fill the header tank fast enough.

Years ago you could tank feed your washing machine. This is about 1/2 a bar. The wash just took longer. For a modern washing machine they recommend 1.5 bar or more

The best solution is to take a feed from after the pump & as suggested run directly to the machine

take out the thimble like filter off the solenoid valve and remove the rubber flow restrictor which is just inside it, this will improve the flow
