Building an additional shed in my back garden

    Hi there,

I was wondering could you help me in relation to a question I have about building an additional shed in my garden. I currently have a shed built which is 23sqm in size, which is exempt as it under the 25sqm exemption size. I am looking to build a second shed in the back garden. Can I build a second shed, and as long as I keep the size under 25sqm would I not need planning permission? I have ample space in the garden and the size of the garden would not be less than 25sqm even after the second shed was built. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    No you can't.

The total size off all the sheds must be less than 25 sq m. So if you want to build another you need to apply for planning permission.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

I’ll second MT’s post too. Sorry. Just to give you a second opinion.

The OP could build an addition 2 Sq. M shed :)
